Hong Kong cable connector maker Cathay Tat Ming Metal Mfy Ltd says it will expand monthly production capacity by 20 to 30 percent. The company's current monthly capacity is one million cable RCA connectors.

According to company spokesperson Kenneth Ng, Cathay uses Telfone and PTFE materials for better insulation against electric leakage. It also reduces distortion of the AV signal because the material has a higher temperature rating compared to ABS or POM material.

Cathay also uses conductor materials such as beryllium copper to replace phosphorous copper. Beryllium copper has a higher resistance against metal fatigue. It can also maintain the elasticity of the connector, explained Ng.
