Pericom transceivers translate SSTL, HSTL, LVTTL standards

Targeted for systems operating from 3.3V down to 2.5V to 1.5V, the 16-bit PI74AVC164245A and 24-bit PI74HSTL1212 bidirectional transceivers translate between such interface standards as SSTL, HSTL, and LVTTL.

The devices are fast enough, featuring a delay time of <3ns, to be used for data lines, networking or telecom applications, as well as stack and support 10Gbps Ethernet applications.

The PI74AVC164245A implements a 16245 transceiver function and features an operating voltage of 3.3V to 2.5V to 1.8V to address the SSTL standard. Another version, the PI74AVC16425LA works from 3.3V to 1.5V, and is designed to interface with HSTL and LVCMOS.

Designed for the extended HSTL environment, the PI74HSTL1212 features dual-independent 12-bit slices of non-inversion bus transceiver that enables translation from 1.8V to 3.3V and vice-versa.

All three devices are manufactured in a 0.35?m process and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40C to 85C.

The 48-pin PI74AVC164245A is priced at $3.02, while the PI74AVC164245LA sells for $3.79 in volumes of 100 units and up. The 64-pin PI74HSTL1212 is quoted at $3.89
