Linear Technology has introduced the 10-bit LTC1850 and 12-bit LTC1851, a pair of eight-channel, 1.25MSa/s ADCs with built-in channel-sequencing capability.
A sequencer can convert single-ended and differential signals over unipolar and bipolar gain ranges automatically. Its range of acceptable signal inputs is designed to eliminate the configuration software overhead otherwise needed for high-speed data acquisition and industrial process control applications, the company said.
The converters can automatically scan through channels in a user-programmed sequence. An internal reference can be pin-strapped to offer 2.048V, 2.5V, or 4.096V spans, or can be overridden if an external reference is used.
Including an internal analog input gain of one or one-half, the devices offer a total of 10 possibilities for the input span.
The pin-compatible devices are available in 48-pin TSSOP packages for both commercial and industrial temperature ranges. The parts are priced beginning at $5.95 in 1,000-piece quantities.
