Tyco Electronics Power Components' Raychem Circuit Protection Division has launched a series of SiBar surge protection devices. Saving board space, the TVAxxxSA series is 30 percent smaller than previous SiBar surge protectors.

The devices are designed to protect network cards with increased port densities against power faults and lightning surges in customer-premises equipment, central office gear, access network equipment and other intrabuilding communications applications, the company said.

The devices provide off-state voltage ratings of 170V, 200V, and 250V and are applicable for customer-premises equipment with maximum dc-plus-ringing voltages up to 270V peak. The prices start at 30 cents each in volume quantities. Delivery time is eight to 10 weeks.
