CMD LDO regulators deliver up to 1A output

California Micro Devices (CMD) has announced the release of the CM3001 and CM3002 LDO voltage regulators designed for PC applications such as Gigabit Ethernet NICs, PCI, and PCMCIA cards that require a dropout voltage of up to 1A.

A part of the Power Wise Regulator product line, both devices can be used to supply can be used to supply fixed voltages of 1.3, 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, and 3.3V from a 3.3V supply. The CM3002 is provided with an enable pin to support low-power shutdown mode, consuming 150?A.

The CM3001 supports up to 500mA output current, while the CM3002 supports up to 1.0A. In addition to providing protection for thermal overload, current limit, and reverse voltage, the thermally-enhanced, 8-pin fused lead-frame packaging provides a low thermal path for heat dissipation.

The CM3001 and CM3002 are priced at 73 cents for 10,000-piece quantities.
