Shanghai Huaxian Digital Video Technology Co. Ltd has constructed two LCOS (liquid-crystal-on-silicon) optical driver production bases in Shanghai and Suzhou, China in its bid to expand capabilities in both local and international markets.

The Shanghai plant covers a manufacturing area of 4,000 square meters, with an annual output of 40,000 units. Digital Video plans to expand the plant area to 50,000-square-meters next year.

On the other hand, Suzhou plant called Huaxie Digital Display Electronics Co. Ltd is a result of Digital Video's acquisition of Xieli Electronics Co. Ltd. The plant covers a manufacturing area of 50,000 square meters. Installations of eight LCOS rear production optical driver equipment are expected to be completed next year.

Meanwhile, Digital Video signed an agreement with U.S. company Three-Five Inc. to jointly develop and manufacture LCOS optical drivers for used in HDTVs.
