The 68HC908LJ12 8-bit Flash microcontroller (MCU) from Motorola Inc. features an advanced LCD driver architecture enabling the device to be directly connected to LCD panelsan asynchronous serial communications interface that eliminates the need for external driver components.

Designed for embedded systems such as digital cameras, thermostats, and portable computing devices, the MCU also integrates a real-time clock module, a 100Hz chronograph counter, and seven periodic interrupts.

The LCD driver has a software-programmable contrast control circuitry and supports 26 frontplane-by-4 backplane, 27 frontplane-by-3 backplane configuration, and 27 frontplane-by-1 backplane configurations.

The 68HC908LJ12 MCU also features 12KB of on-chip Flash memory and a serial peripheral interface for high-speed communication between multiple MCUs or between MCUs and serial peripherals. It has a six-channel 10-bit DAC that performs a single conversion in 8.5?s, as well as a 32MHz PLL.

Pricing for the 68HC908LJ12 MCU starts at $4 each.
