Epcos AG has rolled out what it claims to be the world's smallest dielectric RF filters measuring 2.5-by-2.5mm, designed specifically for WLAN and Bluetooth equipment.

Available with profiles of 1.4mm and 1.6mm, the filters have a center frequency of 2.45GHz and a passband of 100MHz. Insertion loss ranges from 1.3dB to 1.8dB, depending on the model.

The company has also announced the release of a GPS patch antenna measuring 13-by-13mmsmaller than 18-by-18mm footprint of conventional GPS antennas.

Designed to operate between 1.57GHz to 1.59GHz, the patch antennas have a gain of about 1dBi and function over the temperature range of -40C to 105C. They are suitable for use in motor vehicles and portable devices that feature GPS access.
