The controller's two-phase drive outputs deliver up to 80mA to a pair of external MOSFET or bipolar transistors connected to the fan motor windings. Speed control is implemented via the application of a variable external voltage or an NTC thermistor input.
Fan rotor position is detected via a built-in Hall amplifier that enables Hall sensors to be wired to the controller IC directly.
Offered in an MSOP10 package, the controllers operate from a -0.6V to 20V supply and dissipated 500mW. The ZXBM2002 version features a rotor lock output, while the ZXBM2003 has a speed pulse output. The ZXBM2001 version combines both outputs into one package.
Zetex Semiconductors is an exhibitor at this year's International IC ? China Conference and Exhibition (IIC-China), which will be held in Shanghai on April 8 and 9, Beijing on April 11 and 12, and Shenzhen on April 15 and 16. IIC-China is organized by eMedia Asia Ltd, a Global Sources and CMP Media joint venture. |
