The S-8130AC temperature switch from Seiko Instruments Inc. features a latching function that holds the output signal produced by the temperature sensor until a reset signal or lower voltage signal is detected.

Designed for game consoles and other electronic devices, the switch has a CMOS configuration that enables the device to operate down to 2.2V and consume 155A (typ.), while operating between -400C to 1000C.

The 8-pin MSOP device consists of a temperature sensor with a temperature coefficient of -13mV/0C, a reference voltage source, a comparator, voltage detection circuit, and noise suppression circuit.

Seiko Instruments Inc. is an exhibitor at this year's International IC ? China Conference and Exhibition (IIC-China), which is co-located with the Embedded Systems Conferences ? China (ESC-China). The shows, organized by eMedia Asia Ltd, a Global Sources and CMP Media joint venture, will be staged in Shenzhen on April 15 and 16.
