WIZnet releases serial-to-Ethernet gateway module

The IGM7100 serial-to-Ethernet converter from WIZnet Inc., enables legacy systems with serial ports to share and transfer data to devices using the Internet via TCP/IP. The module also allows remote management and control also via the Internet.

Applicable for industrial automation deices such as metering devices, remote controllers, card readers, and security systems, the module has a built-in Ethernet and TCP/IP chip that provides a serial data rate of 115Kbps (full-duplex).

The 50-by-30-10mm also features an auto-sensing 10/100Mbps Ethernet interface and 16KB of Flash memory. It supports in-system programming, real-time data processing by the hardware protocol stack, and remote firmware updates.

WIZnet Inc. is an exhibitor at the 7th annual International IC ? China Conference and Exhibition, which will have its final leg staged in Shenzhen on April 15 and 16. IIC-China is co-located with the 2nd Embedded Systems Conferences ? China, and both events are organized by eMedia Asia Ltd, a Global Sources and CMP Media joint venture.
