NRS Technologies Inc. (NRS), a subsidiary of Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co. Ltd, has completed its acquisition of NEC's SAW device business.

This acquisition is expected to combine NDK's SAW and other devices with NEC's SAW filters, which employ plastic package technology. With this, NRS aims to provide value-added device solutions, as well as new types of module-devices to its customers. SAW filters are important devices for mobile phones, and can be miniaturized and oriented for mass production.

NRS' R&D facility is located in Kanagawa, Japan. Two current facilities, Hakodate plant of NRS and Otsuki plant of NEC Yamanashi Ltd, are responsible for product manufacturing. Additionally, NRS plans to integrate two manufacturing facilities into the Hakodate plant by March 2005.
