Kingston DDR memory modules suit next-gen servers

Kingston Technology Co. Inc. has announced the availability of 1GB and 2GB low-profile DDR PC2100-registered ECC memory modules for 1U and blade server environments, including the P4DL6 and P4DP6 motherboards from SuperMicro Inc. and Tyan Computer Corp.'s Thunder i7500 S2720.

The 1GB (KVR266X72RC25/1024) is arranged in a 128Mword-by-4 bit stacked configuration, while the 2GB (KVR266X72RC25/2G) is arranged in a 256Mword-4 bit configuration.

Both 184-pin devices have a 30.5mm profile and are JEDEC-compliant. They have a CAS latency of 2.5 and operate from a 2.5V supply.

The 1GB and 2GB are priced at $980 and $6,369, respectively.
