Primarion Inc. has announced the availability of its PowerCode Developer Kit aimed at delivering digital multiphase power to designers and manufacturers of high performance computing systems and modules.

Based on the company's Digital Power Architecture, the kit is by the company to offer improved CPU power conversion and ensure data integrity by limiting power droops caused when voltage regulators cannot keep pace with faster processors.

"The Primarion PowerCode Digital Power Architecture acts like an electronic fuel injection system, providing clean and stable power to advanced processors with low operating voltages and high transient currents," said Dan Clarke, president and CEO of Primarion.

The PowerCode kit features PowerCode digital multiphase chipsets that support up to 2GHz of processor performance, and hardware for up to eight phase 120A CPU power conversion designs.

It also includes the company's PowerCode Architecture Managerclaimed by the company to be the world's first software accessible digital multiphase power architecture. This provides designers with access to system performance and diagnostic information to speed up design and simplify system maintenance.

The company also announced that it will develop digitally-controlled, multiphase architecture-based chipsets with Intersil Corp. These control solutions are aimed to complement Intersil's Endura line of analog power solutions.

The PowerCode Developer Kits are priced at $500 for 4-phase, 6-phase and 8-phase versions.
