The Xsensor electronic tactile force and pressure indicating sensor from Sensor Products Inc. allows engineers real-time monitoring of 0.1psi to 9,000psi of force produced between any two contacting, impacting or mating surfaces.
Designed for manufacturing process control and machine/component inspection and calibration, the Xsensor can be used in electronic packaging, determining the pressure distribution within a laminating press for multiplayer PCBs.
The sensor can also be used to detect inconsistencies in resistor thickness across large area substrates in the manufacture of hybrid circuits.
Xsensor consists of an electronic sensor element "skin", an interface controller, and software. The sensor skin is a thin flexible sheet that is densely packed with sensing points or pixels. These sensing points can be spaced as close as 1mm apart and can collect data as rapidly as 60,000 points per second.
The sensing element measures 10mils, enabling it to be used over curved surfaces or invasive intolerant environments.
Screen displays can include mapping image, numerical data, and comments. They can be viewed in 2D, 3D, or histograms for dynamic measurement.
The system requires Windows 95/98/2000/XP OS, 16MB of disk space, and 64MB of RAM. |
