Irvine Sensors thermal video camera has 'instant-on' capability

Irvine Sensors Corp. has announced the availability of the CAM-NOIR miniature thermal camera that operates over a broad temperature range without the need for temperature stabilization or periodic recalibration, enabling "instant-on" capability and allowing instant snapshots of images.

The 320x240 resolution video camera takes pictures using heat emission, and uses a variation of the proprietary technology that the company developed under U.S. government sponsorship for night vision weapons and sensors for drone aircrafts.
