Southwest Institute completes $10M capacity expansion

The Southwest Institute of Applied Magnetism of China has completed the expansion of their NdFeB, SmCo and cohesive magnetic production project worth $10.25 million. Annual capacities are now pegged at 300 tons of NdFeB, 100 tons of SmCo and 100 tons of cohesive magnets. The institute anticipates that annual revenue will reach $26.32 million, as soon as mass production is completed later this year.

The institute is currently undergoing another expansion project to establish quenched magnetic powder and cohesive NdFeB production lines. The proposed annual capacity is 300 tons. The institute says it aims to export about 100 tons to the overseas market.
