IR to acquire microelectronic module maker

International Rectifier Corp. (IR) will acquire TechnoFusion GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Royal Philips Semiconductor, in a transaction estimated to be worth about $50 million.
TechnoFusion manufactures integrated regulator microelectronic modules for use in automotive alternators. Its customers include automotive suppliers Daimler-Chrysler, Visteon, Denso and Valeo.
