The MAXIM 520 series of WAN PMS adapters from SBS Technologies Inc. integrates a quad-port controller that provides an aggregate throughput of 52Mbps and supports interface options including V.35/X.21/EIA530, T1/E1, HSSI, and DS3/E3.

The adapters also support asynchronous and bisynchronous SDLC/HDLC protocols, and are suitable for use in enterprise/edge network elements such as routers, remote access, wireless basestations, VoIP gateways, and VPN/firewall devices.

The boards are responsible for extracting HDLC frames, buffering them in local FIFOs and transferring them into host RAM.

The MAXIM 520 boards feature a low-latency PCI interface designed to burst into host memory at 132Mbps, and offer extensive driver support for Windows NT/2000, VxWorks, Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris.

The MAXIM 520 products range from $425 (OEM quantities) to a list price of $1,455.

SBS has also introduced the PASS 3200 v3.0 software solution for MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429/575 bus analyzer capability in avionics systems integration, simulation, and testing.

"PASS 3200 v3.0 offers a number of significant enhancements to address the evolving precise protocol, timing, and data analysis capability requirements of our customers," stated Clarence Peckham, President Government Group, SBS Technologies.

"This industry leading solution represents the cornerstone of our bus analyzer product line. SBS is committed to providing future updates as new data buses develop," he added.

Based on 32-bit Windows technology, the solution takes advantage of ActiveX, COM, and multitasking functionality, providing the ability to edit the BC and RT list during execution. The software also offer gauge and strip chart widgets for display of bus data.
