SanDisk Corp. has agreed to supply Fujitsu Siemens Computers with CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) Flash memory cards for the Pocket LOOX, Fujitsu's handheld computer. The device features built-in Bluetooth capability and module attachment for mobile phone functionality. SanDisk's CF card has a capacity range from 8MB to 1GB, while the SC card's capacity is from 16MB to 256MB.

According to Heinz Schulte, sales managing director for SanDisk, the CF and SD memory cards will provide expandable storage options for data, digital images, digital music, digital video and other content such as contact lists, e-books and e-maps. The memory cards can also be used with a variety of SD and CF-enabled consumer products, including printers, digital cameras and MP3 players.

"We evaluated several possible suppliers of memory cards and selected SanDisk because it has a reputation for manufacturing rugged and reliable flash cards with the most advanced flash technology available," said Ingbert Kornmayer, VP mobile group, Fujitsu Siemen.
