Elpida Memory Inc.'s line of SO-RIMM modules integrate an 800MHz RDRAM device that features an access time of 40ns and deliver up to 1.6GBps of memory bandwidth, making the modules suitable for use in networking and telecommunication devices.

The 160-pin modules are shipped in packages measuring 67.6-by-31.25mmsmaller than the conventional modules that measure 133.35-by-34.925mm.

The devices also feature a 72-bit ECC capability and are designed to meet the QoS requirements of gigabit network line-rates.

The SO-RIMM modules are available in memory densities of 64MB (MC-4R64FKE8S-840), 128MB (MC-4R128FKE8S-840) and 256MB (MC-4R256FKE8S-840).
