The MIC5233 and MIC5235 LDO regulators from Micrel Semiconductor consume 18?A while supplying an output of 100mA and 150mA, respectively, making them suitable for standby applications in portable and fixed power-sensitive systems.

A part of the company's IttyBitty family, both regulators are housed in a SOT-23-5 package and feature ?Cap capability, which allows the use of ceramic or tantalum capacitors for stability.

The MIC5233 supports an input between 2.3V to 36V, while the MIC5235 supports 2.3V to 24V. They have fixed outputs of 1.8. 2.5, 3, 3.5, and 5V, but also offer adjustable outputs.

"The MIC5233 and MIC5235 are not limited to battery-operated applications," said John McGinty, senior product marketing engineer. "The unique combination of high input supply and low quiescent current allows them to fit into a wide range of portable and fixed applications for providing a stand-by supply voltage"

The MIC5233 and MIC5235 are priced at $1 and 84 cents, respectively, in quantities of 1,000.
