Maxwell Technologies Inc. has announced the availability of the Xray-Pak packaging solution that is intended to shield ICs that process and store data in military satellites from the radiation effects of nuclear blasts.

The package integrates a flexible, lightweight, metal casing with the company's Rad-Pak shielding technology to protect commercial microelectronic components, such as monolithic and multi-chip data converters, memory and logic devices, from x-ray emissions produced by the detonation of nuclear weapons.
