The DMS-PS-CM series of chassis-mount ac/dc instrumentation power supplies from Datel Inc. deliver an efficiency of up to 82 percent, 8mV of noise, and up to three individually-isolated output of up to 4kV isolation voltage.

The devices are suitable for low-to-medium power applications that require 5V, 12, or 24V of source to operate transducers, process monitors, operational amplifiers, and digital panel meters. The isolated outputs are claimed by the company to eliminate ground-loop and common-mode voltage problems found in multiple-instrument applications.

The power supplies operate from an 85Vac to 262Vac or 110Vdc or 310Vdc input and are offered in 5W, 10W, or 16W power ratings. Under full-load conditions, hold-up time with a nominal 120Vac input is 20ms, rising to 80ms at 230Vac.

All outputs provide continuous short-circuit protection, and the high-current main output also provides output overvoltage protection. The DMS-PS-CM devices also feature built-in line fuses and on-board LED indicators.

Designed for industrial applications, all models deliver full-rated power at a temperature range of 0C to 50C without supplemental airflow. With a 50 percent linear derating, the devices operate at a wider temperature range of -25C to 70C.

Pricing for a 5W single-output model is at $38 for OEM quantities.
