The DV3002 chip-on-glass LCD from Densitron Corp. contains an STN fluid in positive mode that enables the display to have a wide viewing angle and be readable even under direct sunlight.

Suitable for battery-powered applications in rugged environments, the DV3002 can withstand temperatures from -200C to 700C and offers an MTBF >100,000h.

The device measures 69.5-by-25.05-by-2.85mm and displays two lines and 16 characters in a 61-by-15.1mm area. It operates from a 5V supply, while drawing 505A.

The display has a built-in LCD controller that incorporates a character generator offering 225 different 5-by-7 alphanumeric patterns and symbols. It also features blink character, display and cursor on/off, display and cursor shift, and display clear.

The DV3002 provides an 8-bit interface or 4-bit parallel interface for direct connection with a microprocessor. No external clock is required for RAM R/W operations.
