Taiwan contributes a 25.9 percent share of the world market. Its four principal IC design houses VIA, Media Tek, Realtek and Sunplus are included in the world's top 20 IC design houses, says IEKC. They offer design services for memory chips, micro devices, logic ICs and analog ICs.

Taiwan's production capacity for micro devices account for 72.1 percent of the total output, followed by memory chips, logic ICs and analog ICs with 16.3 percent, 7.5 percent and 4.1 percent, respectively, adds IEKC.
