Products based on the design is expected to provide broadband Internet access, DVD playback, personal video recording, interactive gaming, TV reception, MP3 audio, content storage, video-on-demand and home networking in a single device.

The design uses key technologies from contributing companies, including hard drives from Maxtor, display components from Focus Enhancements, and video decoder components from Sigma Designs. These components are linked together via an embedded Linux-based operating system developed by TUXIA.
