Pericom Semiconductor Corp. has unveiled its next-generation interface solution for PC2700 DDR DIMM devices used in servers, workstations, and high-end PCs.
The family solution includes PLL clock drivers, registered buffers, and FET bus switches, which the company claims deliver performances that exceeds JEDEC standards and other competing products. These components support the 1-bank Planar DIMM, stacked double-sided DIMM, and 1U DIMM.
The 1:10 PLL clock drivers (PI6CV857 and PI6CV857L) are used for synchronization between input clock signals from a motherboard to SDRAMs.
Designed to amplify the bus signals, the company offers registers in a 2.5V, 14-bit 1:1 (PI74SSTV16857), 13-bit/26-bit 1:2 (PI74SSTV16859), and 24-bit/48-bit 1:2 (PI74SSTV32852) versions.
FET switches are used for on board DIMM module isolation.
The PLL clock drivers are shipped in 24-pin TSSOP casings and are priced at $2.31 for 1,000-piece quantities. The PI74SSTV16857 is at $1.60 and is available in TSSOP and TVSOP casings, while the PI74SSTV16859 is quoted at $2.31 (TSSOP) and $2.40 (56-pin QFN).
The PI74SSTV32852 is shipped in a 114-ball LFBGA packaging and is priced at $4.31. |
