Matsushita Electric Ind. Co. Ltd has announced the development of the MN88441-H OFDM demodulator LSI for use in digital terrestrial television and sound broadcasting.
The chip is claimed by the company to reduce co-channel interference from analog TV signals, offering a performance that is 30 times more effective than previous LSIs. It also incorporates an equalizer that enables the chip to perform mobile reception.
The MN88441-H also employs a parallel processing architecture found in FFTs, which reduces internal clock frequency and power consumption to 300mWless than the 1W dissipated by conventional LSIs.
The OFDM demodulator chip is quoted at about $77.81. |
