Synergetic Computing Systems (SYCS) has licensed Magma Design Automation Inc.'s Blast Chip?a complete RTL-to-GDSII design system that uses gain-based synthesis and route technology?for its combined RISC and DSP multiprocessor architecture called the SYNPUTER.

According to SYCS, they chose Magma for its ability to deliver an entire design flow from RTL to GDSII based on its unique FixedTiming methodology, its 0.13?m design capability and relationships with multiple ASIC foundries.

"Magma will provide reduction in turnaround time because it offers synthesis linked with physical design," said Stig Lofberg, CEO of SYCS. "This turnaround advantage is something that is absolutely critical and vital for a new start-up like us," he adds.
