Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS), Inc. has announced the addition of the TSL2014 896x1 and TSL210 640x1 sensors into its 200dpi linear sensor array product line.

Both sensors operate with a maximum clock of 5MHz and are designed for use in contact imaging, mark and code reading, bar-code reading, edge detection and positioning, level detection, and linear and rotational encoding.

The 112mm TSL2014 comes in a 10-pin glass epoxy substrate package and is specifically designed to scan A6-sized documents. It can be configured to run in serial mode to provide a contiguous array of 896 pixels, and parallel mode to provide two sections of 448 pixels each.

The 80mm TSL210 is shipped in an 18-pin glass epoxy substrate package, and can be configured in a serial mode forming a contiguous 640-pixel array or in a parallel mode with five outputs of 128 pixels each running on a common clock.

In 1,000-piece quantities, the TSL2014 and TSL210 are priced $35.39 and $27.48 each, respectively.
