National Taiwan University establishes SoC center

National Taiwan University (NTU)'s Graduate Institute of Electronics Engineering has established the System-on-Chip Center. Currently, the System-on-Chip center focuses on four key application areas: information electronics, communication systems, optical-electro engineering and bio-medicine.

According to NTU, the System-on-Chip center aims to consolidate industrial momentum in Taiwan and realize the market's practical needs with the support of the local semiconductor industry. Member companies will have access to research studies conducted by the center.

As of now, member companies of the System-on-Chip Center include Acer Laboratories Inc., Media Tek Inc., Realtek Semiconductors Corp., Silicon Integrated System Corp., VIA Technologies Inc., Macronix Int. Co. Ltd, Holtek Semiconductor Inc., Winbond Electronics Corp., Quanta Computer and Sunplus Technology Co. Ltd.
