Agilent fiber-optic transceivers feature de-latch mechanism

Designed for use in Fibre Channel SANs, the HFBR-570AL and HFBR-520ALP SFP fiber-optic transceivers include a de-latch mechanism that eases the unplugging of the devices in high-density applications.

The 2Gbps devices also feature an extended operating temperature range of -200C to 850Creducing the need for system coolingand are powered by a 3.3V source, thereby simplifying board layout and power supply design.

The transceivers are designed for multimode applications up to 300m and use 850nm VCSEL lasers. They are also compatible with both the 2.125Gbps and 1.0625Gbps Fibre Channel specifications and meet the FCC's EMI standards.

The HFBR-5720AL (standard de-latch) and HFBR-5720ALP (pull de-latch) are priced at <40 in high-volume orders and are shipped with LC-duplex connectors. The company is also offering a pin-though-hole (PTH) version and single-mode 1,310nm transceivers in both SFP and PTH packages.
