ISSI, Signia ink licensing agreement for Bluetooth products

Integrated Silicon Solution Inc. (ISSI) has entered into a product licensing and manufacturing agreement with Signia Technologies in which ISSI will manufacture Bluetooth products developed by Signia. ISSI has also been given a worldwide license for Signia's initial products and the right to develop additional Bluetooth products.

ISSI is reported to have committed to invest $3 million in Signia. To date, ISSI has invested $1 million and the remaining $2 million will be invested upon the completion of Signia's next round of financing.

"We have designed a versatile Bluetooth chipset suitable for modems, access points, PDAs, notebooks, mobile phones, and embedded applications. By partnering with ISSI, our products can reach a broader range of customers. We can also benefit from ISSI's manufacturing capabilities and expertise in working with TSMC," says Alvin Chen, president and CEO of Signia.
