SEI adopts Infineon's Octal-10BaseS chipsets

Sumitomo Electric Ind. (SEI) has selected Infineon Technology's Octal-10BaseS Ethernet over QAM VDSL (EoVDSL) chipset for its G.993.1 Plan-A compliant MTU/MDU access system.
Infineon's Octal-10BaseS is an integrated 8-port 10BaseS chipset that extends the reach of traditional Ethernet over an existing telephony copper infrastructure, providing symmetric 10Mbps full duplex Ethernet over distances up to 4,500 feet.
"QAM-VDSL solutions feature a very low system complexity and therefore enable vendors to significantly cut down on design time and costs and reach the market faster," said Yasuaki Mori, president of Infineon Japan. "We are confident that the Octal-10BaseS solution can support a wide rage of revenue generating services of SEI," added Mori. |
