Agere, Yafo codevelop adaptive receivers for optical networks
Keywords:Yafo Networks? integrated adaptive receiver technology? optical network?
Agere Systems and Yafo Networks have partnered to develop an integrated adaptive receiver for high-speed optical transmissions.
Under this agreement, Yafo and Agere will codevelop 40Gbps receivers that incorporate polarization mode dispersion (PMD) compensation and other features inside a compact, integrated module. This agreement spans product definition and development of integrated receiver modules, combining Yafo's PMD compensation technology with Agere's expertise in 40Gbps receiver design and other optical component technologies.
According to Agere, the development of adaptive receiver modules will enable systems vendors to overcome PMD, one of the most limiting optical impairments in high data-rate optical communications. |
