parvus Corp. has announced that it has implemented Fujitsu's MBF solid-state fingerprint sensor into a stackable, PC/104 form factor, and is intended for biometrics-based security. The embeddable board design also integrates a heart beat sensor to prevent unauthorized access via a false finger, and a direct ISA bus interface to the Fujitsu chip.

The product is available as a stand-alone fingerprint sensor board (PRV-1168X-01) or as a biometrics systems development platform (APP-0148X-01) complete with CPU, HDD, and a power supply.

The board features a 15-by-15mm sensor area with an ultra-hard protective coating and a 300x300 pixel sensor array with a 500dpi resolution. Aside from an integrated heart beat sensor, it also incorporates three form C relays, status LED indicators, and eight configuration jumpers.

The board communicates directly to the Fujitsu sensor via the ISA bus or a parallel port interface, and can use a local database to store and match fingerprints.

The board operates from a 5Vdc supply at a temperature range of 00C to 600C.
