Texas Instruments Inc. has introduced the BRF6100 Bluetooth solution that integrates a digital RF processor, Bluetooth baseband processor, and an antenna switch into a 6-by-6mm package, which is suitable for integration into mobile phones.

Designed using the company's digital RF architecture and implemented using a 0.135m CMOS process, the BRF6100 operates from a 1.7V to 3.6V supply, and draws 25mA during operation and 255A during "deep sleep" mode.

It has a sensitivity of -85dBm and supports Bluetooth technology in GSM, GPRS, CDMA and UMTS standards. It also supports full throughput from all cellular clocks and has a configurable UART to meet all PC UART rates with cellular clocks.

The single-chip solution operates a temperature range of -400C to 850C and offers on-chip power management features.
