Equipped with the company's multi-partial element equivalent circuit (multi-PEEC) technology, the Spicelink v5.0 signal-integrity tool from Ansoft Corp. is capable of producing accurate, three-dimensional, distributed models for gigabyte data-rate designs of ICs, PCBs, and IC packages.

Showcased at the 39th Design Automation Conference, the software combines the multi-PEEC technology with a multipole-acceleration method and a model order reduction algorithm, to form a subcircuit that improves extraction and simulation time.

The software consists of multiple electromagnetic solver engines, drawing tool, and a built-in SPICE software. It also runs on the 64-bit UNIX platform, delivering a tenfold increase in the size and complexity of the structures the software can simulate.

Spicelink 5.0 also features an IBIS driver that can be used to run system simulations with the company's interconnect models to provide system-level, time domain simulation information, such as delays, overshoot, undershoot, skews, crosstalk, and reflections.
