Magis licenses ARM core for networking ICs

Magis Networks Inc. has licensed ARM's processor core from for its first-generation chipsets used in 5GHz wireless networking.

Magis develops chipsets for unified wireless networks that enable the simultaneous distribution of TCP/IP data, video, and audio throughout the home and office. The company's products are based on Air5 technology, which supports flexible wireless connections at bit rates up to 54Mbps using the clear 5GHz frequency band.

Magis' licensing agreement falls under the ARM Foundry Program which enables OEMs and fabless semiconductor companies in emerging markets to gain access to ARM processor technology for use in the design and manufacture of advanced SoC solutions.
