Ault lead-acid charger helps erase memory effect

Keywords:bvl series? lead acid battery charger? portable device battery charger?

Ault Inc.'s BVL series, a standalone two-stage charger for lead-acid batteries, powers portable home-health care, industrial and backup telecom equipment.

The unit optimizes lead-acid battery life by protecting against the "memory effect" or the gradual reduction of power caused by repeated partial or fast charging of batteries.

The BVL series, in six models working nominally at 6V, 12V or 24V, includes voltage-switchover circuitry that senses battery current, drives it to a predetermined level and then transfers the charge from fast to float.

The fast and float chargers work over a range from 7.35Vdc to 29.4Vdc and 6.9V to 27.6V, respectively. LEDs indicate on/off and battery status. The BVL complies with EMI and RFI regulations and is approved to cULus 1950 and T\V/EN60950.

The BVL is priced at under $20 each in OEM quantities.
