Fairchild Semiconductor International has extended its Stealth line of fast/soft recovery diodes with the addition of 1.2kV-rated models designed for use in switching power supplies, motor drives, UPS, and other high-power, HF applications.

The company's Stealth technology combines fast/soft recovery switching with low reverse recovery current to reduce switching transistor turn-on losses in hard-switched applications.

Soft recovery minimizes ringing to expand the range of conditions under which the diode may be operated without using additional snubber circuitry, while reducing EMI and improving system reliability.

The ISL9R8120P2 and ISL9R8120S3S are 8A models that offer a soft recovery of >5.5 and <32ns fast recovery time. The devices have a single-diode cathode configuration and dissipate 71W. A dual diode model, the ISL9K8120P3, is also available with the same parameters.

The ISL9R30120G2 single diode and ISL9R30120G3 dual diode products have a maximum reverse recovery current of 30A, and provide a soft recovery of >4.5, as well as fast recovery time <56ns. They dissipate 166W.

The diodes operate from -550C to 1500C and are shipped in TO-220 (ISL9R8120P2 and ISL9K8120P3), TO-247 (ISL9R30120G2 and ISL9K30120G3), and TO-263 (ISL9R8120S3S) packages.
