Methode Electronics Inc.'s dataMate Products division has announced the release of the SFP EMI Cage that minimizes EMI radiation leakage in both copper and optical SFP transceivers in Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, and Infiniband applications.

The one-piece device also prevents the separation of pieces that often occur in the processing and handling of two-piece models.

The EMI Cage is designed with press-fit pins that allow the device to be mounted to a PCB without solder. The press-fit pins also allow for mounting in belly-to-belly applications to double port density.

Pricing starts at <$2 in quantities of 10,000.
