The DS1110 10-tap delay line from Dallas Semiconductor Corp. is claimed by the company to be the world's first all-silicon 10-tap delay line in a 14-pin TSSOP casing and is positioned as a drop-in replacement for the company's DS1010 product.

The chip offers 10 equally-spaced taps that give delays up to 10 times the input pulse width while maintaining delay precision. Accuracy is specified over both commercial and industrial temperature ranges. The device provides delays of 10ns to 50ns per tap and up to 500ns total delay.

The company also claims that the IC allows calibration improvements to provide twice the delay precision with an 80 percent reduction in jitter.

The DS1110 operates from a 5V source and is also available on 14-pin DIP and 16-pin SOP versions. A 3V version, the DS1110L, is also available in a 14-pin TSSOP casing.

Prices start at $4.50 (1000-up).
