STMicro offers dual-channel ADCs in TQFP casings

STMicroelectronics has shipped two 12-bit, dual-channel ADCs in 48-pin TQFP casingsa packaging size normally associated with single-channel ADCs.

The TSA1203 and TSA1204 performs 40MSa/s (230mW) and 20MSa/s (120mW), respectively, and are suited for applications in medical imaging and ultrasound equipment, 3G basestations, in-phase and quadrature signal processing, high-speed data acquisition, and in portable instrumentation products.

The TSA1203 has an effective number of bits (ENOB) of 11 at the Nyquist sampling rate, an SFDR of 78dBc (10MHz), and a 68dB signal to noise and distortion ratio (SINAD). The TSA1204 includes an 11.2-bit ENOB, 80dBc SFDR (10MHz), and 68dB SINAD.

Both are manufactured using an advanced 0.255m CMOS process and feature pipelined architecture, as well as the use of digital error correction to provide static linearity.

Both also feature an internal voltage reference, proprietary track-and-hold circuit featuring a 1GHz input bandwidth, common clock signal for both channels, selectable I or Q channels, 2.5V supply voltage with 3.3V-compatible I/Os, 2Vpp differential or single-ended analog inputs, tristate outputs, and good channel isolation.

They are rated for operation from -400C to 850C.
