The EM6680 MCU from EM Microelectronic-Marin SA comes in an 8-pin TSSOP casinghalf the size of similar competing productsand is suitable for control applications in battery-powered appliances and security devices.

Integrated with a 4-bit ADC, the MCU is also equipped with 1,536x16 ROM and 80x4 RAM, as well as an internal RC generator from 32kHz to 500kHz. The device also features power-on reset, watchdog timer, 10-bit universal counter, supply voltage level detector, serial interface, compare input, frequency output, and several other clock functions.

The device operates from a 1.2V to 3.6V supply voltage and draws 45A during operation, 2.55A during standby, and 0.15A during sleep mod (1.5V, 32kHz). It has a 4-bit RISC CPU that is capable of storing up to 72 basic instructions.

Aside from the 8-pin TSSOP casing, the MCU is also offered in a 14-pin TSSOP and SOP housing, as well as in an 8-pin SOP version.
