Developed for use in the LCD projector market, the Dream III series of high-temperature polysilicon TFT-LCD panels from Seiko Epson Corp. are claimed to have higher aperture ratios and faster processing speeds than previous generation of products.

Capable of displaying XGA MLA video with a resolution of 1,024x768 pixels, the panels use new driver circuits and other high-speed processing technologies, halving the XGA input video signal number and the externally-mounted drivers, while creating a common architecture for XGA and SVGA systems.

The typical 0.99-inch panel is capable of supporting 3,500 lumens and provides an aperture ration of 65 percent. The 0.7-inch, 0.9-inch, and 1.4-inch models offer aperture ratios of 53 percent, 63 percent, and 75 percent. All models also offer a contrast ratio of 400:1.
