Chartered Semiconductor Mfg Co. Ltd has joined the ARM Foundry Program, ARM's business model that enables OEMs in emerging markets to gain access to ARM processor technology in the design and manufacture of advanced SoC solutions.

By taking part in this program, Chartered Semiconductor has licensed ARM7TDMI core, ARM946E core and 32-bit RISC ARM microprocessors on processes ranging from 0.25?m to 90nm. This agreement also grants Chartered Semiconductor access to the ARM1022E core for future designs. ARM's cores will further be used by Chartered as part of the development and qualification of its product solutions.

Chartered Semiconductor has built designs with ARM cores on various process technology nodes for multiple customers who have a full implementation ARM license. This agreement provides ARM partners in the foundry program access to the same silicon processes at Chartered Semiconductor.
