The MIC5159 LDO regulator from Micrel Semiconductor Inc. can be combined with an external p-channel MOSFET to produce regulated fixed outputs of 1.5V, 1.8V, or 2.5V required to power high-current DSPs, MCUs, and logic devices.

The IttyBitty device has an input range between 1.65V to 5.5V and is also capable of producing adjustable outputs. It has a transient response of 105s, drives up to 10A, and offers a user-programmable current limit.

A member of the company's 5Cap LDOs, the MIC5159 requires only one ceramic output capacitor for stability. It is shipped in a SOT-23-6 package and is rated for operation from -400C to 1250C.

Pricing for the MIC5159 starts at $1.70 in quantities of 1,000.
