Astec Power has added the ALH60, a low-voltage half-brick family that is said to deliver 60A at 250C.

"The hottest spot on an open-frame ALH60 remains a cool 1170C while it delivers >45A at 1.8V out, with 200lfm airflow across the unit, even at an ambient air temperature of 700C," said Geoffrey Potter, VP of dc/dc engineering. "That's the same output as an industry benchmark, while running a full 80C cooler."

The single-output modules deliver 1.2, 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3V from a 36V to 75V input, and they achieve peak efficiencies of 91 percent. Their voltage, current and thermal attributes are said to suit them to automatic test and measurement applications.

The wide operating-temperature range (-400C to 1000C, -400C to 850C ambient) is said to assure reliable operation in most environments.

The supplies feature output voltage adjustment to 110 percent, positive or negative logic input control pin, undervoltage lockout with hysteresis to prevent false stopping and starting at low input voltages, and protection against overvoltage, overcurrent and overvoltage.

The company touts the supplies' transient response and their stability (more than 500 of phase margin) along with their ability to deliver power into high-capacitance, low-ESR loads of up to 10mF and 3 milliohms.

The ALH60 is priced from $100 each in quantities of 1,000. Samples of the 3.3-V model are available now.
